Fran Drescher wears iconic outfits from The Nanny and shares it on TikTok -Kidspot

We present to you the “flashy girl from Flushing, the nanny named Fran” – two decades later.

Fran Drescher has posted a TikTok video of herself wearing some of the most iconic outfits worn by her character Fran Fine on the hit ’90s sitcom, The Nanny – and it’s nostalgic AF.

But also, with the theme song playing – which of course you will remember even though the show finished 23 years ago – it’s… dare we say it… “just exactly what the doctor prescribed”!

The nostalgic Nanny video

In the clip, captioned, “What I’d wear as Fran Fine,” Drescher clicks her fingers several times and appears in different outfits – with The Nanny‘s unforgettable theme song in the background.

The video was shared on the show’s Instagram page, with the caption encouraging TikTok views:

“You don’t need to go all the way to Queens for exclusive content and special clips. Don’t miss any of the fun.”

The clothes in the TikTok

The video begins with Drescher, 64, in a cheetah print peacoat and matching heart-shaped sunglasses, paired with a black shirt, beret and pants. She then switches to the classic Plein Sud Plaid vest she wore in season one.

Next Drescher appears in one of her most worn outfits on the program — a geometric vest with rainbow-colored diamonds and gold buttons. And as always, tight tight pants.

Also making the cut was Drescher’s long-sleeve black bodycon dress and a shawl made of gold rings and chains, which she wore with her signature red lip.

But our favourite was the pink, floral terry robe, which Nanny Fine often sported in the mornings, as the family sat down for a formal silver-service breakfast served to them by butler Niles.

Fans loved the clip on social media. The comment included:

“Fran looks better at 64 than I have ever looked in my entire life. How does it feel to be God’s favorite?”

“That robe will remain eternally iconic!”

“FRAN’S GONNA BE FINE FOREVER”.

“I absolutely adore her, growing up my sister and I would stay up to watch [it], The Nanny is such a comfort show.”

The Nanny history

The Nanny, which celebrates its 30th anniversary next year, aired for six seasons between 1993 to 1999.

Nanny Fine’s wardrobe was non-traditional and skin-tight – but in 2018, Drescher revealed the dark reason behind her svelte figure.

“I’d been the victim of a violent crime about 10 years before, and I hadn’t really dealt with that,” she explained, adding that in 1985 she was raped at gunpoint during a harrowing home invasion.

“I had to deal with it once I became famous and it came out, though — thank God I was in therapy! Honestly, I just loved going to work and being Fran Fine, because she was nothing but funny and light, and my life was kind of a mess. I think that was part of why I was so thin.”

She added: “I look back at some of those episodes, and I remember what was going on behind the scenes, and it wasn’t pretty. When I sold the show [in 1993], I was 142 pounds (64 kilograms) — and by the time we were in our fifth season, I was maybe 110 pounds (49 kilograms). I was burning the candle at both ends.”

Now, twenty-three years since the show ended, Drescher can still sport her iconic look – but with a much healthier body and mind, as the TikTok clearly shows.
