Jen Herrera Biography

Jen Herrera is an American Journalist, TV Host, Producer, Content Creator, and Anchor who is currently working at NBC6 South Florida since joining the station in April 2018. In addition, she co-hosts Six in the Mix- a daily, live, entertainment, and lifestyle show in South Florida.

Most notably, Jen knew she wanted to pursue journalism as a professional career at a very young age. She was involved in the Newspaper Club and throughout her middle school the Yearbook Club. Once it was time to go to college, she was determined to become a TV reporter. She graduated from Florida State University in 2003 with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Mass Media.

Jen got her first internship before her freshman year at ABC WPLG in Miami. She ended up working at this station for the first 15 years of her career. Additionally, she got to tell the stories of her community and had the opportunity to travel the world. Her most memorable assignment was being sent to Cuba in 2012 to cover Pope Benedict XVI’s visit to the island. Recently, Jen become a published author. She wrote “Are Your Fake Boobs Making You Sick?” after her own health issues, and eventually made the decision to remove her breast implants.
